Cancellation Policy variation applicable for disruptions caused by the Iran War – Effective from 31 March 2026 

We understand there is uncertainty surrounding air travel due to the current Iran War. To assist guests, we have introduced a limited variation to our cancellation policy for bookings directly impacted by specific air travel disruptions arising from the Iran War. 

This policy applies only to stays at Touch of Spice exclusively managed villas and only where a guest is unable to travel solely due to their scheduled flight being cancelled by the airline as a direct result of the Iran War. 

For the avoidance of doubt, this policy does not apply to disruptions arising indirectly from the Iran War, including but not limited to fuel shortages, airline operational or commercial decisions, schedule changes, route suspensions, pricing changes, or general travel disruption not expressly attributable by the airline to the Iran War. We recommend taking travel insurance to cover these instances. 

Where a guest is unable to travel to New Zealand due to a qualifying flight cancellation, and no reasonable alternative routing is offered by the airline, Touch of Spice will: 

Provide a credit valid for 12 months, to be used for the same villa, subject to availability and applicable rate changes at the time of rebooking. 

To qualify for this policy variation, the following documentation must be provided: 

• A completed check-in form at the time of booking, including all traveller names;  
• Proof of airfare purchase showing traveller names, flight details, and booking date;  
• Official written confirmation from the airline (or authorised travel agent) stating:  
• the flight has been cancelled;  
• the names of affected passengers;  
• the flight details; and  
• that the cancellation was directly attributable to the Iran War.  

If such confirmation is not provided, the booking will remain subject to our standard cancellation policy. 

This policy variation applies only to the circumstances outlined above and all other bookings remain subject to our standard terms and conditions.
