Spicers Peak Lodge: All-Inclusive Luxury Lodge in Queensland’s Scenic Rim

A stone-and-timber mountain lodge more than 1,100 metres above the Scenic Rim, where every meal, every glass and the view across the Great Dividing Range are part of the stay.

Spicers Peak Lodge stands on a private reserve of more than 8,000 acres, high on the edge of Main Range National Park, and is regarded as Australia’s highest non-alpine lodge. Built from local stone, rich timber and walls of glass that open to the ridgeline, it holds just ten suites and two private lodges, each with uninterrupted views over the national park. Two MICHELIN Keys, membership of Luxury Lodges of Australia and the Queensland Hotels Association’s 2026 award for Best Deluxe Accommodation confirm what guests discover on arrival: this all-inclusive lodge in Queensland is about space, quiet and generous, unhurried hospitality.

The Location

The lodge sits in Queensland’s Scenic Rim, about two hours’ drive south-west of Brisbane and a short drive from Warwick, yet the road in climbs well beyond any sense of the everyday. Around it, the protected landscapes of Main Range National Park fold away towards the Great Dividing Range, with clouds often drifting through the valley below and the peaks of Spicers Gap and Mount Cordeaux close by.

That setting shapes how days are spent. Guided walks, mountain biking and tennis start at the door, and the lodge team runs bushcraft sessions, billy tea and damper over an open fire, and sunset 4WD tours through the property. Further afield, helicopter flights reach Mount Mistake and the vineyards of the Granite Belt and Scenic Rim, while 4WD tours head to Queen Mary Falls.

The Lodge

Inside, the interiors are layered with texture and warmth, with bluestone fireplaces, marble bathrooms and a collection of artworks that includes significant Indigenous pieces. Within the main lodge, the 34m² Lodge Suites sit on the ground floor with private balconies looking across the valley to the distant ranges, and one is configured for accessibility. The Lodge Spa Suites add a separate spa bath to the bluestone fireplace and balcony, well suited to cool mountain evenings. Two Loft Suites, set near the guest mezzanine, look out over the mountains and the surrounding farmland respectively.

For greater privacy, two standalone lodges sit apart from the main building. The 83m² One Bedroom Private Lodge is set in quiet bushland, with a separate lounge and bedroom, a double-sided fireplace, a kitchenette and a private heated infinity spa outdoors. The 97m² Two Bedroom Private Lodge is perched on the edge of the escarpment, with two king bedrooms and ensuites, a bluestone fireplace and an outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking Spicers Gap, a natural fit for families or friends travelling together.

Shared spaces include the main lodge lounge with its open fires, an infinity pool facing the ranges and Spa Anise, a purpose-built mountaintop spa with single and double treatment rooms, a plunge pool on the deck and a relaxation lounge around an open stone fireplace. Treatments include aromatherapy, warm stone therapy and pregnancy options.

The Experience

The all-inclusive stay begins at midday, with lunch on the terrace on the day of arrival. From then on, every meal is taken care of: an à la carte breakfast each morning, lunch daily and a chef’s tasting menu every evening at The Peak, the lodge’s chef-hatted restaurant. The menu changes daily, drawing on premium Australian seafood, quality meats and native ingredients such as bunya nut, muntries and Davidson plum. Matched wines are poured each night, or guests can choose their own from a list recognised with three glasses in Australia’s Wine List of the Year awards, with a cellar master selection and premium cocktails available as an upgrade.

Between meals, the minibar is replenished daily with Champagne, beer, rosé, shiraz and snacks, and a programme of hosted experiences runs throughout the stay, from gin appreciation and guided walks to campfire canapés as the sun drops behind the range. Private experiences can be added, including cocktail and whisky masterclasses, a Champagne and caviar tasting, a romantic bath butler service and helicopter wine tours. The entire lodge can also be booked for exclusive use, for weddings, celebrations and executive retreats.
