The Location

ROKI Collection sits on the edge of Queenstown’s lakefront, near enough to wander into town for dinner and far enough removed that the evenings stay still. Each evening between 5pm and 9pm the house car is available for drop-offs and pick-ups in town, and the reservations team arranges airport transfers and helps build itineraries before arrival.

From here the Southern Lakes open up in every direction: ski fields in winter, Gibbston and Central Otago wineries, golf at Jack’s Point, and the lake itself for cruising, fishing or jet-boating. ROKI also takes guests further afield. Rees Valley by ROKI is the hotel’s mountain dining retreat near the head of the lake, while ROKI Pure’s Rewilds stage wellness rituals at remote alpine locations accessible only by helicopter.

The Suites

Virginia Fisher’s interiors lean on hand-selected furnishings and natural materials, keeping the palette calm so the view does the work. The 50m² Junior Suite is the most intimate, with an integrated lounge, fireplace and bathtub alongside a spacious walk-in wardrobe. The Deluxe Suite extends to between 60 and 65m², adding a separate lounge area and a freestanding bath positioned to take in the mountains.

For more room, the 1-Bedroom Suite occupies a corner of the building across 75 to 80m². A separate bedroom and lounge share the lake views, while the walk-in wardrobe and bathroom are tucked away so nothing interrupts the outlook. The 2-Bedroom Family Suite, at 88 to 101m², is planned around travelling families: a dedicated children’s bedroom with a split king bed and its own bathroom, a master bedroom with ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, and a central family lounge with games and a discreet hideaway television. A Family Butler is on call throughout the stay.

Whichever suite you choose, gourmet breakfast is included, along with pre-dinner canapés delivered each evening between 5pm and 6pm. A fully stocked minibar, Nespresso facilities, Sans [ceuticals] bathroom products, ROKI robes and slippers, a Dyson hairdryer and access to ROKI Pure’s Sleep Concierge come as standard.

The Experience

Director of Culinary Paul Froggatt oversees three distinct places to eat and drink. Essence is the destination: an intimate evening restaurant serving The Journey, a full tasting menu with paired wines or mocktails, built on New Zealand produce such as langoustine, king crab and West Coast venison and shaped by Froggatt’s European training. It is the only restaurant in New Zealand to hold Two MICHELIN Stars, and carries three hats from the Cuisine Good Food Guide. The Terrace offers a relaxed, seafood-focused lunch and dinner menu facing The Remarkables, and The Library Bar pairs a deep New Zealand wine cellar with an in-house mixologist. In-suite private dining can be arranged at any time.

ROKI Pure is reserved for hotel guests, with a pool, jacuzzi, cold plunge, sauna and 24-hour gym. Its treatment programme is built around Rituals co-created with The Tides Wellness, a partnership exclusive to ROKI in New Zealand and the Pacific, alongside in-suite Resets for sleep and self-care. The signature scent, BREATHE, with notes of cedarwood, clove and blackcurrant, runs through the spa and its take-home range. In 2026 ROKI Collection was the highest-ranked New Zealand hotel in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, recognition that reflects how consistently the whole experience holds together.
