MICHELIN Keys Fiji: Inside Six Senses Fiji – A Two-Key Island Paradise
Posted in November 2025
Six Senses, Fiji
After exploring the MICHELIN Key winners across New Zealand and Australia, we’re rounding off our South Pacific series with Fiji, a destination where MICHELIN kept things selective. Of the two Fijian properties awarded Keys, COMO Laucala Island is currently closed for renovations (stay tuned for updates). The other remains fully open, fully exceptional, and fully deserving of its accolades: Six Senses Fiji, proudly carrying two MICHELIN Keys.
Set on a sweeping, sugar-sand, sunset-facing beach on Malolo Island, Six Senses Fiji feels more like a private island paradise than a traditional resort. With just 24 private pool villas (alongside a collection of larger residences), each space offers craftsmanship, serenity, and refined simplicity. Every villa includes its own plunge pool, a spacious deck for lounging or dining, and an open-air bathroom — meaning from morning espresso to evening soak, you’ll find yourself immersed in the rhythm of the sea, sand, and tropical breeze.

A Resort in Harmony with Its Island Home
Whether you choose beachfront or garden-set villas, interiors are elegant without ever feeling overdone or losing their sense of traditional Fijian craftsmanship: natural materials, artisanal thatchwork, soft neutral tones, and all the modern comforts you’d expect — Wi-Fi, minibar and wine fridge, flat-panel TV, and a coffee machine with biodegradable pods. The entire design encourages barefoot, unhurried living, with sliding walls and breezy transitions between indoors and out.
For larger groups or families, the villa-style residences (from two to six bedrooms) offer generous living spaces, private pools, full kitchens, and expansive decks. Multigenerational travellers have all the room they need for togetherness, along with peaceful pockets of privacy when the moment calls for it.

Sustainability at the Centre
Six Senses Fiji walks the talk on sustainability, weaving environmental responsibility, community wellbeing, and cultural preservation into every layer of its operations. The resort runs on an impressive solar infrastructure, generates its own organic produce and free-range eggs, harvests rainwater, and diverts significant waste from landfill — all while inviting guests into the Earth Lab to learn hands-on sustainability skills and explore traditional Fijian practices. Its Sustainability Fund fuels high-impact projects, from restoring native Malolo Island forests to expanding protected habitats for the critically endangered Fijian crested iguana, whose population has grown from 17 at the resort’s opening to 40 after the 2025 survey.
Coral regeneration is equally ambitious, with thousands of fragments nurtured in coral nurseries and hundreds out-planted on the house reef each year, supported by guest and community education sessions. Beyond the shoreline, the resort partners closely with Solevu Village, installing vital water tanks, supporting local schools, and expanding waste-management awareness, ensuring that the positive impact of every stay extends well beyond the property.

Eat, Drink, Dive, Relax — or Do All Four
Dining at Six Senses Fiji celebrates Pacific flavours with contemporary finesse. Multiple restaurants, a gourmet deli, a charming pizzeria (we recommend ordering take-away and enjoying it at the outdoor movie theatre next door), and even an ice-creamery ensure there’s something for every mood.
Tovolea, led by Chef Winston Fong, showcases local produce and abundant seafood, with a sunset vantage perfect for a sundowner — mahi mahi and a ‘living cocktail’ recommended. Rara offers international specialties crafted from locally sourced ingredients, from Italy to Japan, best enjoyed with a signature cocktail overlooking the marina. Prefer to stay put? In-villa dining is always an excellent option.
The island itself is an adventure playground. The Experiences Centre arranges snorkelling, diving, kayaking, sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, and surf lessons through the on-site Surf Academy. Tennis courts, a boutique marina for yacht charters, and island excursions round out the options. For underwater discovery, the Mamanuca archipelago delivers world-class dive sites for both novice and experienced scuba divers.

Wellness, Rest & Reset
Wellness is ingrained in the fabric of Six Senses Fiji. The Spa & Wellness Village is a sanctuary of its own, blending traditional therapies with modern holistic practices across treatment rooms, relaxation lounges, a yoga pavilion, and an Alchemy Bar where you can blend your own facial and body scrubs and essential oils. Guests can opt for bespoke wellness assessments, structured programmes, or simply enjoy the sauna, steam, and fitness facilities.
Families are equally well catered for, with the “Grow With Six Senses” children’s programme, thoughtful amenities for little ones, and activities designed to engage young adventurers.
Six Senses Fiji doesn’t just offer a villa or a beach holiday — it offers total immersion in the glorious island way of life — and that’s exactly why it earned its two MICHELIN Keys. Get in touch today to experience this dreamy slice of Fijian paradise.
