Posted By on

It’s Level 1, the school holidays are here, and a fresh dump of snow has fallen in Queenstown – can you ask for more? Not to worry, we’re here to give you it for free. Stay for 7 nights and pay for only 5 – that’s two free nights in your own luxury Private Villa. With space to sleep the full family, round up the gang and get away on that well-deserved break, saving as you do it.

Wondering how to spend a week in Queenstown? We can help with that too. More than just specialists in Luxury Accommodation, our team of Travel Designers are constantly on the lookout for the newest out-of-this-world experiences throughout New Zealand. Check out our dream week exploring our beautiful back yard of Queenstown – fit for the snow junkies, wine lovers, adventurers, and fitness fanatics.

Day 1:Heli-Snowshoeing

If you can walk, you can snowshoe. If you can snowshoe, you have to heli.  Reach the top of the world only minutes from Queenstown, avoiding the strenuous climb. Surrounded by towering, jagged Southern Alps mountain peaks and hidden winter alpine life, heli-snowshoeing provides you with the freedom to get a perspective on nature that you've only ever seen in nature documentaries. After an active afternoon, take a well deserved break with a glass of perfectly chilled bubbles at the top.

Day 2: Apres Ski at Middle Earth Falls

Fly straight from the ski fields over Lake Wakitipu towards Middle Earth Waterfall for an apres ski like never before. Indulge in a gourmet picnic lunch prepared by your private guide served with perfectly matched mulled wine from the heart of Central Otago's Gibbston Valley. Feeling brave? Dip your toes in the glacial river straight from the falls before exploring the surrounding area by foot.

Day 3: Meet the Makers

Join a private guide and discover the flavours and crafts that make Central Otago produce so unique. Start your adventure at the Grant Family bee farm for a honey-tasting experience before trying your creative hand at wax candle and honey soap making, spinning your own honey, or for the more adventurous, climb into a suit and experience being-a-beekeeper. From here you will visit Thomas Brown Art Gallery in Arrowtown, an old cheese factory, meeting the artists himself. Next up, a visit to Mount Rosa Winery for a private tasting and lunch with one of the wine makers themselves before finishing the day at the Waka Gallery. This studio if home to Maori carvings, sparkling opals, New Zealand blue pearls and pounamu (jade stone). Leave with a small gift from Rob the gem cutter to take home with you.

Day 4: Ben Nevis Station

A High-Country adventure like no other. Experience the thrill, excitement and adrenaline rush as you conquer diverse terrain on a four-wheel drive buggy. You'll get geared up and prepared for a bit of dust, mud and a ton of fun. Once at the station, learn a new skill with clay target shooting and archery. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, coaches are on hand to help you hit the target. Next up, take a seat next to New Zealand's very own World Rally Car Champ, Hayden Paddon and experience life in the fast lane. Finish your day of adventure with a gourmet dinner and a glass of local Pinot Noir.

Day 5: Station to Station bike tour

Start the day sailing across Lake Wakitipu towards Mount Nicholas Station, a working High Country Farm over looking the lake and the Remarkables Mountain Range. From here you'll jump on you bike (or e-bike) and ride from one station to the next along the lake front. Along the way there will be plenty of opportunities to stop for some scenic photo ops and a chance to take in all your surroundings. Arriving at Walter Peak Station and after working up an appetite, your guide will serve a delicious gourmet lunch of local and seasonal produce. After the welcomed break, you'll take the classic TSS Earnslaw steam boat back to Queenstown Wharf - an active yet rewarding day for the full family.

Day 6: Hike & Hot Pools

It's time to get active! Join your private guide on one of the many surrounding walking tracks in Queenstown - some even the locals don't know about! Listen to the stories of your guide, take in the views and get a real sense of being in the wild. Want to go further? Take a private heli to a remote mountain peak and hike along the ridge line for an unforgettable experience and a feeling of being on top of the world. After a day on your feet, treat yourself to a private hot pool at Onsen. Relax under the stars with a glass of bubbles and let the days activities melt away.

Day 7: Valley of The Vines

Take the scenic drive through the Gibbston Valley and get racey at Highlands Park. Go-kart in your own mini Grand Prix on the world-renowned racetrack and soothe that need for speed. After a busy morning, drive into the heart of the Central Otago wine region and sink into a fur-lined armchair for a tasting and lunch platter at Cloudy Bay's exclusive Tasting Shed. Journey towards the Gibbston wine region, known at the 'Valley of the Vines' and sip more world class Pinot Noir at some of the best wineries and cellar doors in the world.
